Genre: 3D Exploration Platformer
Rolling Thunder is a 3D puzzle platformer where players control Thunder, a determined hamster navigating an oversized bedroom from inside a hamster ball. As a curious cat roams nearby and obstacles block the way, players must explore the environment, solve spatial challenges, and collect all hidden keys. Once every key is gathered, Thunder makes his escape—triggering the end of the game. Designed to test reflexes, creativity, and environmental awareness, Rolling Thunder blends playful charm with fast-paced puzzle-solving in a world built from a hamster’s tiny perspective.
As the project manager and level designer for Rolling Thunder, a 3D puzzle platformer developed in just one week by a team of three, I oversaw the game's development timeline and ensured that all systems and features were delivered smoothly. In addition to managing the project, I worked collaboratively on the gameplay programming, focusing on key interactive and UI elements.
Objective System & Animation Logic: Programmed and designed the behavior of in-game objectives, ensuring that new challenges dynamically appear as players complete prior ones.
UI & Game Flow: Built the main menu, pause menu, and game over screen, creating a complete and intuitive user experience from start to finish.
Hazard Mechanics: Implemented the system for environmental hazards (such as thumbtacks and pins), triggering game over conditions.
Level Layout & Puzzle Flow: Designed the spatial arrangement of the level and object placements to encourage exploration, strategic movement, and multiple solution paths.
These contributions reflect both technical versatility and production oversight, combining gameplay scripting, UI development, and project leadership within a fast-paced development cycle.
