Participant – Game Design & Pitch Competition
June 22–July 12 2025 | Globe Tower, BGC & Vertis North, Quezon City (Hybrid format)
Joined a national-level game development initiative for IT students and young professionals, hosted by Globe Hangouts and GDAP. As part of a 2 member team, we conceptualized and developed a full original game proposal—complete with genre, mechanics, and platform plan—and presented it live during the finale event.
We attended exclusive workshops led by local game studios and industry veterans, where we received hands-on guidance on design process, storytelling, and pitching. Our final concept was reviewed by a professional panel during the live event, with evaluation criteria based on creativity, technical clarity, and storytelling.

The Globe Hangouts GoGAMING Game Changers Convention Year 2 is a national game development initiative in the Philippines for IT and Computer Science students and young professionals. Hosted by Globe Hangouts in partnership with the Game Developers Association of the Philippines (GDAP), the event focused on turning original game concepts into polished proposals. Participants attended workshops, received mentorship from industry experts, and pitched their game ideas at a live convention.
One of the major obstacles we faced when making our game was the requirements of our school about creating an educational game first -and-foremost. That meant that there was little-to-none in monetization and fun in Sakuna.
By entering here, we'd be able to meet with industry leaders and actually get their inputs on how to improve the game design of our game.
The requirements to enter can be found below.
We were actually pretty nervous about entering because we really wanted our game, Sakuna, to be recognized by industry professionals—or really anyone else besides our Adviser, Panelists and Play Testers— since we worked incredibly hard on it as our Capstone.
So, instead of submitting just a document, we decided to do a little bit of research on what game pitch deck's usually look like and we created a sample pitch deck of Sakuna, which you can view below.
The first thing we accomplished after the discussion was to create a brand-new game design featuring a 90-second pre-disaster timer, family rescue mechanics, and disaster-specific objectives across dynamic levels, which you can view by clicking or scrolling through the document.
The second was the final requirement—a polished game deck showcasing our core systems, timeline, budget, and pitch for full production.
